Current Training Opportunities

Advice First Aid is a fully-funded course for client-facing organisations that support people living, working or travelling through North Somerset. It is designed for organisations whose clients may need information, signposting or referral to Citizens Advice.

The aim of this project is to equip trusted community members with the tools to spot early advice needs and connect people with the support they need.

If your organisation supports people outside of North Somerset, then unfunded Advice Essentials Training is available to you. 

Advice Essentials 1 is designed for frontline staff and volunteers who have initial contact with individuals seeking help. This half-day course equips participants with the skills to identify issues, provide initial guidance, and signpost people to to specialist services like Citizens Advice.

Advice Essentials 2 is designed for professionals like social workers and support workers who provide ongoing support to clients. Participants will explore four out of five key advice areas – debt, housing, welfare benefits, immigration and employment. By the end of this 1-day course, attendees will feel confident in guiding clients to the right support.
