Trustee
Ian spent 30 years in international trade before becoming Chief Executive of the Institute of Export – a national educational charity. These experiences contributed to his interest in cultural diversity and a continuing love of travel. In 2001 he was awarded the OBE for services to UK international trade.
Following his retirement he joined Citizens Advice in Lincolnshire as a volunteer where he served as a Trustee for seven years and then as an Advisor. After three years in that role he and his wife moved to Portishead (in 2019) to be closer to family. He was delighted to be invited to join the CANS board to continue his contribution to Citizens Advice.
Ian has been a Trustee of Citizens Advice North Somerset since May 2020.
