Chair of Trustees

Farid is an experienced leader and manager and has a wealth of general management expertise to support the board fulfilling their responsibilities mainly in Governance. He started his professional career in the private sector, mainly in quality assurance, following his Bachelor’s Degree in applied chemistry and became a chartered chemist and a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Farid moved to the public sector and works for the NHS, for 20 years as a senior manager. He specialises in corporate governance disciplines such as clinical risk management, health and safety and Quality. He has a master’s degrees in Occupational and Environmental Management (Ionising and Non-Ionising radiation protection and Musculoskeletal injuries). He also has a Diploma in Management and Leadership from the Chartered Institute of Management.

Outside his professional career, Farid was a chairman of governors in a primary school for several years and was a member of Devon and Cornwall Round Table, playing an active role as a Secretary then Treasurer in raising funds to support local charities.

Farid has been a trustee of Citizens Advice North Somerset since September 2018 and was elected Chair in 2019.
